Continuing on the theme of fall colors, I hit my local bead show really hard yesterday, and came home with this juicy combination, among other treasures. Yellow jaspers and red and orange aventurine reflect the glorious fall colors reminiscent of the Blue Ridge mountains in the fall. Paired with copper spacers and the extraordinary copper-dipped Maple leaf I'd already purchased from Etsy sellers, my next project will be a 3 strand collar, similar to the previous carnelian one I posted. I think I will also add some brown goldstone, which should pick up and carry the sparkle from the leaf all the way around the necklace. Time to get the Round Tuit out again, and get this thing assembled!!
My favorite bead show sellers were these, with their fabulous selection, as usual, and I picked up some lava rock rounds and barrels, some blister pearls, pink and red coral buttons and rounds, and some larger red coral nuggets. I also found some carnelian rondelles and barrels. I could have broken the bank with all of the beautiful beads I found yesterday! This time, though, I was able to control myself. Maybe having my three-year-old there with me was a good thing, because by the time I got my treasures purchased I'd only hit two tables and he was ready to go. Next time he'll stay home!!

OMG...this next one is going to be even more stunning than the last one!! Cannot wait to see how this one turns out. Still haven't gotten my necklace yet but I'm going to check the track and confirm in a minute and let you know what it says.
HEY! I just checked, and your package went through Denver on Friday. The ponies should be on their way to your house today via Canada or some far-off place. Can't wait to hear from you!!
It's HERE! I picked up mail on my way back from town yesterday and the package was here! It is gorgeous. I can't get the leaf to lay straight so I must be putting it on wrong. I'll have to play with it - I may take the leaf off and put a slider on it and attach it to the bottom strand so it hangs in front rather than the side.
Try putting it on with the leaf on the left collarbone. The leaf should lay flat that way, attached just above and falling down vertically, covering the clasp. It's wired on seperately with copper wire, so by unwinding it you won't damage the necklace. That way you can reattach it where it suits you. OR, you could send it to me and I can work on it if you'd like.
I think I was putting it on "backwards" with the clasp above rather than below the leaf. Let me play with it a bit and let you know! Right now it is hanging next to my vanity so I can just enjoy looking at it. ;o)
GORGEOUS NECKLACE!
